3 THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND WHEN YOU SAY ‘NO’

Ever been in a position where you really don’t want to get involved but for the sake of someone you gotcha involved into something that you never wanted. Yes, I know how it feels and it’s terrible. Here are some things to keep in your mind when you say no gracefully.

1. BE FRANK

Just say it, that word called ‘NO’. Don’t think what the other person might feel when he/she hears it. The first step that you need to develop is to be honest with others and yourself. If you are uncomfortable just say you can’t, end of the story.

2. DON’T FEEL BAD FOR OTHERS

There are a lot of people ( who I personally know well ). They just don’t say ‘NO’, because they feel they will hurt the emotions of others. Some people do it for the sake of maintaining friendships/relationships. But you see, that’s really not necessary. Sometimes, you have to take care of yourself and you have to respect yourself and that’s very important.

3. DON’T GIVE PROMISES

Avoid giving promises to people and take real care before you commit yourself into things that you can’t eventually get out of. Try you best to stay balanced and don’t take any action without thinking it out properly first. Remember, it’s always a little bad when you back out of assured promises. So take real care before you commit to something.

  1. “no” is the tough one isn’t it? We always want to help others but sometimes there just isn’t enough time. Sometimes you have to say no. And you certainly want to say no if it is going to cause you to feel resentful. If it has resentment, then it was just as if we didn’t even help that person at all. Great post. God Bless you 🙂
